saline breast implants. The outer shell of these breast implants is made from silicone, but they are filled with a saline (salt-water) solution. If there is a problem with the breast implants, which is uncommon, the saline solution is safely absorbed by the body.
Silicone gel breast implants are now available with FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approval. Dr. Lazarus will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of silicone gel and saline implants to help you with your selection.

Breast augmentation is performed under intravenous anesthesia, so you will sleep through the entire procedure, which generally lasts from one to two hours. After your breast enlargement surgery, you can expect to feel tired and sore for
about one week. However, Dr. Lazarus will prescribe medication to control pain. All swelling and discomfort will diminish over the next few weeks, but you may be able to return to work about a week after surgery.
